CSA – Certified SOC Analyst

The Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) program is a comprehensive, lab-driven training and credentialing initiative engineered by EC-Council for professionals seeking to enter or advance within a Security Operations Center (SOC). Intended as an intense 3-day (24-hour) program, it bridges the gap between foundational knowledge and intermediate-level operations, specifically targeting Tier I and Tier II SOC analyst roles.

It thoroughly covers the fundamentals of SOC operations, Centralized Log Management (CLM), and SIEM deployment, before progressing to advanced incident detection and incident response. The program emphasizes practical skills, requiring candidates to monitor and analyze logs from diverse technologies (IDS/IPS, endpoints, servers), develop correlation rules and use cases, and perform alert triaging using Service Desk ticketing systems.

A key differentiator is its commitment to hands-on learning. The program incorporates 80 tools and 22 real-world labs that simulate a live SOC environment. Activities include analyzing attack methodologies, integrating Threat Intelligence feeds into SIEM, and practicing the full incident response lifecycle—from containment to reporting. Certification and Eligibility

Upon completion of the training, candidates are prepared to take the CSA exam (312-39) , which consists of 100 multiple-choice questions over 3 hours, requiring a 70% passing score. Candidates can attempt the exam either after attending official training or by proving 1 year of relevant experience in Network Administration or Security.
